We bumped into Myung Ga while visiting Wang Ga Ma, which was right next door. The menu only had a few items, nothing extensive as they positioned themselves as a snack bar.
I found their menu a little dull with less than a dozen items to pick from. But you can tell from the menu that their experts at dumplings, if they positioned themselves as a dumpling store, I think they would be pretty successful.
We tried their original dumpling, which was steamed right away, served with soya sauce. The pork dumpling tasted very fresh and solid. I would’ve liked to see more juice come out of the dumplings, would’ve been perfect.
Korean cuisines usually comes with a number of free appetizers but only surprised this place only served one.
We also tried their Korean style roll with vegetables. It was alright, but wasn’t the best I’ve had.
This was their version of Odeng, a variety of fish cakes served in a bowl of clear soup. The Odeng tasted a bit fishy, especially the longer pieces. The soup was nothing special and tasted a bit watered down.
Overall, the dumplings were no doubt the highlight of Myung. Perhaps they should stick with what they are good at. Other than that, I don’t know if I have other reasons to visit.
