That Place is an Italian restaurant located on the corner of Lougheed Hwy and Brunette Avenue. It’s not really noticeable because it’s dark inside (as you can tell from the picture). The restaurant’s got a bar and a dozen of tables. My girlfriend and I came on a Friday night, as it was busy at My Greek (next door), so we decided to try this new place out. It was almost 8pm and the place was quiet with a few tables occupied. I was a little scared, especially being a Friday night and the restaurant was not busy. But we just went for it anyways.
We started off with a Caesar salad. The salad was well-dressed and tasted pretty good. Our waitress said it was the best.
Also with recommendations, this was one of their gourmet pizza’s. The “Back Door Special” came with chicken, spinach, pineapple, garlic and feta on hand-stretched whole wheat crust. It was a good choice.
The portions came surprisingly big. The Smoked Chicken Pesto Penne came with bite-sized chicken and sun-dried tomatoes in a creamy pesto sauce. I really liked the creamy pesto sauce, my only concern was that it didn’t come with enough sauce. Our waitress promised that she’ll bring extra sauce next time. The penne was cooked well and a bit chewy, which I liked.
Our bill came to just over $35. Not bad for a salad, pasta, and pizza. The food was good. The service was friendly and we were well taken care of. I’m guessing their busier days are on Tuesday and Thursday’s. The ambiance was alright, it did try to have that romantic candle light dinner but there’s just something in there just didn’t make it all that. I’m not sure what it is. Other than that, I’d recommend this place for some true Italian.
