Pho Toan Thang is a Pho restaurant in Port Coquitlam. It was recommended to us by our drummer friend, Mati. (If you ever need drum lessons, this is the guy!) We never made it to this Pho until now because there was just so many other closer ones in the neighbourhood. But anyhow, we made it! Upon walking into the restaurant, I was surprised to see the place was very well decorated. It was not your typical Pho place. We were in a hurry that afternoon, so that’s why we decided to go for Pho. We were seated right away and we ordered almost instantly.
Nothing special about the bean sprouts here, it’s just like any other Pho place. You can get it raw or cooked, we prefer it cooked. The bean sprouts are a necessity for a good bowl of Pho.
My girlfriend and I both got the same bowl #10 small because it had everything. The soup was pretty hot when served. The noodles were tasty, no complaints! So in #10, you can find rare steak, brisket, fatty flank, soft tendon, beef ball, beef tripe and pho.
Overall, Pho Toan Thang gave me great impressions. The prices are competitive and service wasn’t bad. However, I’m not sure if there is any incentives for me to come back. Though I wouldn’t mind trying their ‘prawn paste on sugar cane’ next time.
