Cheesecake Factory has always been a favourite when visiting the US of A. The restaurant itself is obviously known for its cakes. However, they have made it so that people could dining place rather than a dessert place. The funny thing about this place on weekends (not so sure about weekdays) is that they are always packed with people during dinner time. We dined here on a Sunday evening and the wait was well over an hour. Smart enough they had one of those buzzer things that you can take into the mall and it will start flashing and vibrating when your table is ready. Best invention ever!
The bread and butter is complimentary. The darker one is better IMO.
We ordered several appetizers to share. The first is a blend of crab, artichokes and cheese served with warm garlic bread. The garlic bread were toasted giving off this crunch. The crab dip was quite flavourful, not bad.
The flatbread was quite worth it in my opinion, only $5.95 on the menu. Fresh mushrooms, garlic, and herbs were used to bake the flatbread. It was enough for 4 to share.
The Salisbury Chopped Steak is my girlfriend’s all time favourite here, I think it’s safe to say mine too. They use Certified Angus Beef chopped steak combined with onions, mushrooms and garlic. It really is the perfect combination, very juicy and filling. It is served with mashed potatoes, mushroom gravy and brocoli.
At first I was going to get the Caesar until this caught my eye. A blend of chopped romaine, grilled chicken, tomato, avocado, corn, bacon, blue cheese, and apple with their house vinaigrette. For only $1 more than the Caesar salad. It was very filling probably enough to share for 2-3 people. Though I asked for Mozzarella to substitute for the Blue Cheese, but that never happened.
And to end off the night, of course we had to get a slice of their all famous cheesecake. We decided to share the Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake. A Flourless Godiva Chocolate cake, topped with Godiva chocolate cheesecake and chocolate mousse. That’s a lot of chocolate! But I guess if you like chocolate, you can’t get enough of it.
