January usually means that you’re all tired from eating to all the dinners and parties you’ve attended the latter part of December and going into New Years. Well, in case you don’t know…there’s more coming! There are two major food events that are happening in the month of January.

#1. 2013 Dine Out Vancouver Festival

Dine Out Vancouver is in their 11th year! It is one of Canada’s largest restaurant festival that allows diners to sample their menu from over 200 restaurants in the lower mainland. For those who are new to the city or just haven’t been to the event, here’s some simple information.

Price: $18 / $28 / $38 per person (Hotels starting from $78/night)

When: 17 days!!! January 18 to February 3rd (some restaurants like to extend beyond these dates)
              Menus to restaurants available to public on January 7th

Where: Across multiple cities in Greater Vancouver

Hints: American Express cardholders  enjoy advanced reservations

#2. Street Food City II

The second event that is happening around town during (more or less) the same time is the Street Food Vancouver event! Now, this is their 2nd annual event. It is with regret that I had missed the first one last year. But I really think street food is a lot more fun in the summer, when it’s warm and all. But after being down to Portland this past weekend I think they are no doubt the street cart city! Even with flurries and temperature below zero, they are still out and about.

Price: FREE entry

When: January 23-27
11am – 3pm Wed – Fri
11am – 5pm Sat & Sun
