Today I’m taking you to a food cart adventure out in downtown Vancouver. I was out at downtown for work that day and so decided to eat out for lunch. One of my co-workers suggested me to try “Pig on the street”. They are a flat bread specialist and of course, pork! I got there right before noon, so I just missed the lunch crowd.
After studying their menu, I decided to go for something more special. So I ordered “The Napolean” on their special menu, which they have on the side window of their van.
This cart definitely have creativity. Instead of giving out order numbers, they have little piglets with famous people names written on them (with a little of fun)! The wait wasn’t long, maybe just 5 minutes and I had my flatbread in hand.
The Napolean must’ve been a favourite for the regulars, since it had the “back by demand” sign next to it. It was a double smoked bacon, their homemade flatbread with creamy brie, dijon mayo and a bed of vegetables.
At first, I thought it’d be dry with little sauce but it turned out to be pretty saucy. The combination of everything was just bang on. I don’t think there would be another way that would have been better, that’s how good it was. However, as I got down to my last bites I could taste only the flatbread. I think the flatbread alone wasn’t all that spectacular, it was very much the ingredients (especially the bacon) that made the WOW factor!
