So what brings me to the boonies? Well, of course the food! I found out about this place through my girlfriend’s parents. I have never heard of this place, and there’s rarely any reviews online. But I guess that doesn’t explain why I couldn’t be the first. My girlfriend and I came on a Sunday evening because it was the only evening where they had their Prime rib special for $20.
We got there around 6:30pm but since it was winter, the sun had already set. Luckily we caught the last bit of light. The restaurant was only occupied by two other tables. I was surprised how empty a buffet was, but that’s ok. More for me! But it was only quiet because perhaps the Oscars was on or that it was too cold for golf season yet.
I believe one was a vegetable soup and I totally forgot what the other one was.
The vegetable soup wasn’t bad. In fact, it was pretty good (cause it’s got potatoes and bacon).
The “make-your-own” Caesar salad was enjoyable. The Caesar sauce was very much homemade. Ingredients included croutons, chicken bites, bacon, and mozzarella cheese. I couldn’t believe I needed a second refill on this when I know how to make a perfect Caesar salad at home.
The prime rib was the highlight of the evening. It wasn’t bad at all, although it lacked a little flavour but it was a good piece of meat. Aside from the appetizers and the prime rib, there is also a variety of sides including mashed potatoes, spring rolls, rice, pasta, and many more.
And if that isn’t enough to fill you up, there’s a dessert buffet table! Although the selection isn’t much, but its desserts do not disappoint. At least the one we had was pretty good!
My girlfriend and I shared a cream puff chocolate cake, and it was heavenly! Presentation and taste was just bang on. It wasn’t too sweet, yet it brought out all the flavours of chocolate and cream puff! We loved this one.
It was under $20 per person before tax and tips, which is not bad for a buffet with a gorgeous view of the golf course. As summer approaches, I’m sure this place will be packed. So, I do recommend calling ahead of time to reserve a table.
Overall, I thought the service was quick and prompt. Our server was very friendly, which is a big plus! The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t spectacular either. For the price you are paying, I think it’s worth a try. The ambiance is really cozy and classy in here with the view, it’s absolutely gorgeous. And we were just in time to catch The Oscars on TV while enjoying our buffet dinner, the sound system wasn’t bad at all.
