Storms Restaurant on Urbanspoon

Hi Everyone,

It’s girlfriend here =) Boyfriend has asked me to write a few comments about this restaurant that we visited in Kamloops last week. Storms on the river is located next to a river as implied by it’s name. From the outside, it kind of looked like a house.

The Patio

There was outdoor seating in the back of the restaurant as well as a lounge/bar area inside the restaurant. As we walked in, we were greeted promptly by a waitress and was seated right away although we arrived prior to our reservation. The waitress saved us a seat by the window overlooking the river. To tell you the truth, the river looked a bit brown and cloudy =P Another unrelated comment would be that there was a group of high school students having their prom dinner at the table behind us.

Anyways, back to the food.

Fried Oysters

We decided to order the appetizer called Fried Oysters-crispy coated, fried and served with cocktail sauce and fresh lemons. The oysters were a bit “undercooked” and as a result, I asked the waitress to bring it back to the kitchen. The second time around, the oysters were cooked but the taste was not spectacular.

Chicken Pacifica

For entrees we ordered Chicken Pacifica- breast of chicken stuffed with baby shrimp, crab meat with smoked gruyere cheese, breaded, baked, and served with sauce hollandaise and linguine

Boyfriend commented that the linguine lacked flavour, the chicken was alright, side vegetables tasted bland and overall the dish was mediocre.

Crab Stuffed Prawns

Crab stuffed Prawns- jumbo tiger prawns, butterflied and topped with a tasty crab stuffing, oven baked and served on a bed of rice. This dish was not quite worth $19.99 as the portion was not especially big nor did it taste especially good. Cork n fin was definitely better!

After eating out in Kamloops, I am very grateful that we live in Vancouver! We really do have the best foods and variety!

Thanks for reading and I hope to have the opportunity to guest post again soon =)
